Lawrence Francis Joseph, 88, formally of Kingston, passed away on Monday at Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in, Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Russell and Cecelia Thomas Joseph. Prior to his retirement, he was owner/operator along with his brother John, of several Holiday Pancake Houses throughout Northeast PA, as well as Apples Family Restaurant, Wilkes-Barre, M & M Produce, Hazleton and Holiday Market, White Haven. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne and a life member of Knights of Columbus, council # 3987. Everyone who knew Larry, loved him! He would brighten their day with a smile and a joke.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Savage Joseph, brother, Joseph Joseph, Wilkes-Barre, sister, Theresa Chesvick, CA, and brother, Leonard Joseph, FL.
He is survived by children, Linda Joseph and fiancé Paul Swales, Naples, FL.; Terri Usher and husband Chuck, White Haven; Marianne Schwartz and husband Tom, Virginia; Lawrence Joseph and wife Lisa, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Gary and Chris Ostroski, Chuck Usher, Lori Artemik, Lisa DiPalma, Larisa and Marcus Joseph; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Landis Ostroski, Madison Ostroski, Aiden Artemik. Sisters, Jane Yazbeck, Bethlehem; Thalia Assaf, Atlanta, GA.; brother, John Joseph, Safety Harbor, FL., also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Andrew Sinnot officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
